"Foresight is sacred to me."

Susann Albrecht-Amsler has lived in St.Gallen with her family for almost 40 years. She really likes it here, it's not too big and not too small - just right, she says. For decades, Susann taught adults on the preliminary design course at GBS in St.Gallen. Art has remained an important focus even after her professional life. She continues to work on her artwork in her studio when she is not looking for hidden treasures in a second-hand bookshop or library. A place of strength for Susann is the balcony of her apartment in St.Gallen. From there she enjoys unique views of St.Gallen.

Studio in the Lachen quarter

Susann's studio is located in the Lachen district. As an artist, she explores with her camera and creates works of art. When she is tempted out of the studio, she often visits the Brockenhaus Blaukreuz on Turnerstrasse. There she likes to wander through the shelves and be inspired by old paintings, pictures and books.

With open eyes through the city center

When Susann goes into the city in the morning, she likes to let her gaze wander through the alleyways. A visit to the Lüchinger antiquarian bookshop or a coffee at La Verità on Gallusplatz is a must. Susann has a fantastic view of the whole city from her balcony. She often takes photos from her balcony and incorporates the images into her art. She says that her home in the city of Gallus "means everything to her".
