Welcome event "Sankt Hallo" - St.Gallen's diversity for new arrivals

On Wednesday evening, 19 November 2025, the annual welcome event "Sankt Hallo" took place at the St.Gallen Concert and Theatre. Around 400 newcomers were warmly welcomed to the city of St.Gallen.

A varied program offered attendees exciting insights into the cultural, sporting and social diversity of their new home: guests were welcomed by Mayor Maria Pappa and host Jan Henric Bogen. A performance by the children's theater dance school and performances by the band We Are Ava provided the best entertainment. In addition, interviews with Elisheva Senn (Forster Rohner AG) and Christoph Sprecher (aufgetischt St.Gallen) provided interesting insights into the textile and event city of St.Gallen. The evening was once again hosted by Joana Mauch.

The opportunity to get in touch with more than 50 local associations and institutions was particularly popular. The aim is to help the new arrivals to make connections. Of course, the traditional St.Gallen bratwurst was not to be missed on this evening, and a vegetarian alternative was also provided.
