"Art on the track": Street art as a guest
on Bahnhofstrasse
Since the end of June and until the end of October 2024, a temporary, 18-metre-long street art wall has adorned Bahnhofstrasse. As part of the "Kunst am Gleis" campaign, stores along Bahnhofstrasse are now also taking part and surprising passers-by with colorful window fronts and decorated shop windows by local artists.
The City Management Board sees street art as an opportunity to revitalize the city centre. That is why, in collaboration with the somewhere LAB agency, it brought together St.Gallen artist Lionel David and Basel artist Pollo 7. This resulted in the 18-metre-long street art wall.
Afterwards, various artists painted other objects along Bahnhofstrasse, creating colorful works of art. Discover the cheerful apples by talinolou or linger in the fascinating world of Sophia Freydl's artwork. Be enchanted by other works of art by Arion illustrated, lako.mio and pomba.
