"With this bar I have fulfilled a dream".
New opening Le Fumoir
Not far from Bärenplatz at Hinterlauben 2, the young restaurateur Sergey Keller has opened his own bar. It has been open since June and offers cocktails, whiskeys, rum and cigars.
Sergey had been dreaming of something of his own for a long time. He discovered the premises on Hinterlauben years ago and waited until the space became available. A few months ago it did, and Sergey Keller jumped at the chance. "We completely tore everything out and remodeled it," Keller says from behind his bar, where he clearly feels at home. It's obvious that Keller is an aesthete. As a contrast to the dark colors in Le Fumoir, the drink bottles shine in stylish light and the bar convinces with a great ambience. "Personal attention to guests is very important to me. I don't want to do mass processing, but to prepare every drink with passion," says Sergey Keller.
A cigar lounge is set up on the upper floor. It receives the tobacco products from Urs Portmann. Guests who regularly visit the lounge can set up their own compartment for their cigars. This is labeled with the guest's name and so he or she can enjoy his or her favorite cigars in the lounge. The visitors do not have to go hungry. Sergey Keller cooperates with the Unikatessen am Corso and the Restaurant Papagei and thus also offers food.
Keller was born in Russia and came to Switzerland at the age of 13. He completed an apprenticeship as a catering specialist at "netts". Since then he has been working in the restaurant business. He looks after Le Fumoir together with a small team.
