"The clocks tick differently here"
New opening of Drahtseilbähnlilädeli
Since the beginning of June there is the Drahtseilbähnlilädeli next to the Mühleggbahn. There you can find homemade products from the Café Restaurant Drahtseilbähnli as well as regional specialties almost all in organic quality.
Whether it's takeaways, gift ideas or food for a delicious picnic in the meadows - the Lädeli offers an inspiring selection. Demand for the Drahtseilbähnli products increased steadily in the past, especially during the lockdown. As luck would have it, the store space at the Mühleggbähnli recently became available and Claudia and Marcel Braun seized this opportunity and realized their Lädeli. A specialty are their Vietnamese summer rolls with fresh vegetables, tofu and peanut dip. On weekends, fresh flowers from "YEOON" are also available.
For almost five years, the siblings Claudia and Marcel Braun have been running the Café Restaurant Drahtseilbähnli at Pic-o-Pello Platz, which is located opposite the Lädeli. Claudia, Marcel and their team make it possible for their guests to immerse themselves in a world of pleasure and forget everyday life, thanks to their delicacies. "Here in the neighborhood, the clocks tick differently," Claudia Braun tells us. "You're only a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, and yet our guests can switch off here. Whether it's over a delicious coffee, listening to the murmur of the Mühlegg Gorge or enjoying a meal by the evening sun."
Claudia is an experienced gastronome. She trained as a cook, service assistant and wine sommelier. During a stay abroad in New Zealand, she forged the idea of her own café restaurant. Without further ado, her brother Marcel, who had studied at the HSG, ventured a lateral entry and the two opened the Drahtseilbähnli together in November 2016 and, as mentioned, recently the Drahtseilbähnlilädeli.
The Lädeli's hours are Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
