Perronord
The Perronnord is located at Rosenbergstrase 48 in St.Gallen. Until eight years ago, the Perronnord was still called Bierstübli. Today, the restaurant is a popular meeting place for a casual after-work beer in a cozy atmosphere or to go out for a good meal. The guests are very mixed, which is more than desirable here. Perronnord is best known for its excellent cordons bleus, but the rest of the menu tastes wonderful, too. Anyone who is "gwundrig" to the beautiful, cozy restaurant directly behind the train station should definitely stop by.
Wild carrot
The Wild Carrot is nestled in the Lattich, near the St.Gallen freight station. There, where stores and offices have taken up residence, the youngest offspring of the Pfefferbeere was born. Among other things, Pfefferbeere operates the Aescher mountain inn in Alpstein. The Wilde Möhre is characterized by fresh, colorful cuisine and enlivens the Lattich with public and private events. The meat comes from the region, the beer from St.Gallen and the wine from the canton. In addition to the regular menu, there are seasonal additions such as salad bowls in summer or fondue in winter. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner menus, as well as specials on Tuesday evenings with African cuisine and Thursdays with treats from Sri Lanka. The Wild Carrot is a popular meeting place for coffee breaks for Lattich tenants.
Cocina Espaniola - Monastery Courtyard
The Klosterhof or "Cocina Espaniola" on Klosterplatz is known for its wonderful tapas. The restaurant offers a variety of Spanish specialties, with prawns and tapas being particularly popular. But prawns and paella are also very popular. The restaurant has been around for over 25 years and the owners are still very passionate about what they do.
Restaurant Splügen
The restaurant Splügen with its wonderfully green garden is delightful. Many like to drop in spontaneously and are quickly convinced: You can feel at home here, whether in the garden or indoors in the cozy restaurant. The restaurant is located in the middle of St.Gallen's old town - between the cathedral and the Mühlegg Gorge. The Splügen has been run by Sam, Amos and Isabelle for 37 years. However, the restaurant has been in existence for over a hundred years. The unique charm and the many treasures to be discovered inside are a constant source of amazement. Splügen serves wonderfully fresh, oriental food. Every Wednesday there is Wiener Schnitzel, prepared by two Austrian women. Next door, right by the Splügen's beautiful garden, there is the Splügenecke. At present it functions as an additional place for the guests. Otherwise it is used for events and guests can rent it for parties and celebrations.
Brasserie LOK
The largest preserved locomotive depot in Switzerland is now a cultural center and restaurant. The past of the former locomotive depot lives in the rails and the mobile benches. The team of the "LOK" brings the Esprit de Paris to St.Gallen. Dishes such as the Entrecôte Café de Paris, the fresh Salade Niçoise, the tasty Bouillabaisse or Breton oysters stimulate the culinary imagination. The restaurant also offers an assortment of the best Bordeaux wines, which perfectly round off every dish.
In addition, the restaurant "LOK" has a wonderful, large outdoor terrace, where warm evenings can be spent comfortably. Therefore, those who want to combine the visit with culture, this is also the right place. Before a visit to the cinema or a theater you can have a tasty meal. The Pinch
"The Pinch" - a catchy name to remember. The restaurant is run by American Mark Seman and Australian Sam Stephens. Both love good food and guests are taken on a culinary journey around the world. The two did not want to commit specifically to one offer, every week they create together with the chef some new dishes on the menu. There is hardly anywhere else where you can eat as internationally as at the Pinch. The Pinch is meant to be a meeting place for friends and strangers. It is a place for good food and drinks with friends. It is an urban neighborhood restaurant and also a place for culinary surprises. The cozy garden bar invites you to stay and enjoy a coffee or a nightcap after your meal. " The Pinch" is intended to be a place for everyone: for neighbors, for people who are still hungry late at night, and for those who need some time out and would like to dine alone.
Nile snack bar
Hamdi Ismail Khalil has been making wonderful falafel since 1992. He used to run a restaurant in Goliathgasse. For almost eight years, he has been offering his cooking skills at the Rondelle near the Bohl marketplace. Together with Liumei Silva, he makes sure that people get a delicious lunch or dinner. He has been getting the bread from a bakery in Appenzell for 26 years. The Lebanese bread he buys in. Hamdi gets the vegetables from a trader in St.Gallen and some of the ingredients for the falafel come from the Demeter farm in Scherzigen. In addition to falafel, which is available in bread, rolled or in a hamburger, Hamdi offers Ismail Khalil Koushari.
Cable car
The Drahtseilbähnli is located right next to the valley station of the Mühleggbähnli. It is known for its unique brunch, which makes many a morning better. The Drahtseilbähnli is a restaurant for the whole day. For lunch and dinner, there are delicious menus - either from the classic menu or a hit from the weekly changing menus. There are vegetarian dishes, dishes with meat and fresh appetizers. The Drahtseilbähnli sources wine from the region in organic quality. Great importance is attached to regionality and to the freshness of the products. The Drahtseilbähnli impresses with its cozy and familiar ambience, the guests enjoy the coziness. For five years the restaurant has been run by the siblings Claudia and Marcel Braun.
ØYA
The ØYA offers indoor and outdoor seating, both upstairs in the restaurant and downstairs in the club. It is for guests who like to enjoy a coffee, a good breakfast or a wonderful lunch. It is also for night owls who like to spend time in the bar. There are a few Scandinavian specialties, Vikingbröd, bowls but also pizzas, aperitif platters and much more. The emphasis is on authenticity, and everything is made with love in the small kitchen. Everything is fresh and homemade using local produce. The cuisine is mainly vegetarian, but there are also vegan options. For meat fans, meat from the Zeller butcher's shop is used. There is something for everyone at ØYA, both culinarily and culturally.
