Attention market fans!
Whether it's a flea market, a farmers' market, or an organic market, the city offers a wide variety of markets that will charm you with their unique atmosphere.
Farmers' market
From April to November, the St.Gallen farmers' market attracts numerous visitors from the city and region every Friday morning from 7.00 am to 1.00 pm around the Vadian Monument. Locals and guests meet here to buy fresh, regional products directly from the producers and enjoy the lively market activity in this charming meeting place.
The farmers' market was created through the collaboration of farmers from St.Gallen and the surrounding area who, together with the St.Gallen Farmers' Association and the Consumers' Forum of Eastern Switzerland, laid the foundations for this tradition. What began in 1991 with a modest range of fruit, vegetables and baked goods has now developed into a diverse offering. The market has been organized as an association since 1997 and is an indispensable meeting place in the old town.
The participating farming families produce their goods with love and care and offer a wide range of fresh, seasonal and regional products. The products range from fruit and vegetables, herbs and seedlings to specialties such as alpine cheese, bread and pastries. Meat, dairy products and handmade bouquets of flowers are also part of the range. Each stall tells its own story and reflects the diversity of regional agriculture.
The St. Gallen Farmers' Market invites you to explore and enjoy. Here, you can not only buy high-quality food but also experience the atmosphere of a lively marketplace. Have you already visited the Farmers' Market and been enchanted by its colorful variety and cheerful atmosphere?
